…WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM EST THURSDAY…

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 9 AM EST THURSDAY.

OVERNIGHT TEMPERATURES IN THE LOWER TEENS ACROSS NORTHERN MARYLAND AND IN THE SINGLE DIGITS ALONG THE APPALACHIANS WILL COMBINE WITH NORTHWEST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WILL CREATE WIND CHILL VALUES OF BETWEEN 5 AND 10 BELOW ZERO. THE COLDEST WIND CHILLS WILL BE FOUND ACROSS THE RIDGES…ESPECIALLY THE APPALACHIANS AND THE POTOMAC HIGHLANDS.

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU GO OUTDOORS…DRESS IN LAYERS AND WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.
